IGN I'm torn as how to summarize 24: Season Five because the merest hint of what would happen in the show's season premiere episode tipped me off to clues that something was about to go down, thus mitigating the shock factor that launches the season with some bangs. Peter Schorn Pop Matters Indeed, 24 continuously questions how far we should go in the name of country, society, and freedom. In doing so, the series expertly exploits the paranoid anxieties that were awakened by the terrorist attacks of 9/11, the subsequent military invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, and by the enforcement of the Patriot Act. Marco Lanzagorta DVD Talk 24 is simply one of the most addicting shows you'll find on network TV, combining an irresistible real-time premise with layered characters, emotional drama, potent action sequences and never-ending cliffhangers.
