Reviews of 24 TV Show

Apollo Movie Guide For most of us, a busy day might include a meeting, a nice dinner and a night on the town. For Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) that would be a lazy Sunday in the warm August sunshine compared to the single day that makes up the debut season of 24, one of the most daring and exciting television series I’ve ever seen. Ryan Cracknell

DVD Verdict As with the first season, Season 2 follows its initial storyline, the hunt for the nuclear bomb, for about half the season, then shifts gears toward a more Tom Clancy-style political thriller, as Bauer must hunt for the bomb's origin before Palmer is forced to declare war in the Middle East. Mike Pinsky

Pop Matters At its best, which is frequent, 24 provides multiple tensions, ranging from soapy excess to exquisite visuals, taut story structures to lunatic twists. So principled that he's scary, Jack Bauer makes impossible choices (this much is underlined in the season's stunning final minutes, when he must perform an appalling violence in order to save the world, again). Cynthia Fuchs

DVD Talk 24 is simply one of the most addicting shows you'll find on network TV, combining an irresistible real-time premise with layered characters, emotional drama, potent action sequences and never-ending cliffhangers. Simply put, every episode feels like a season finale. Randy Miller III
