The motion picture version of Bewitched is a travesty of monumental proportions that belongs in the "What the hell were they thinking?" category. While I can't claim to remember every TV-to-movie translation in the last 10 years, this has to be among the worst, if not the worst, to undergo the process.
James Berardinelli
The Boston Globe
Even by the lowest, loosest standards of silliness, "Bewitched" is a juvenile movie, made for people who watch their romantic comedies while wearing a bib.
Ty Burr
San Francisco Chronicle
"Bewitched" is not the usual reworking of an old sitcom. It's a shrewd reimagining of the show's original premise, updated and retooled for a world that already knows all about Samantha and Darrin. If anything, it's even more lightweight than the TV series, though that may be hard to imagine.
Mick LaSalle
USA Today
Will Ferrell recently announced on The Daily Show that Bewitched "is more a public service than a comedy" about the evils of sorcery. His quip came after host Jon Stewart expressed mock concern for audiences who will be exposed to black magic.
