Glee TV Show centers around several members of the high school glee club called “New Directions” who are seeking a national title which will miraculously restore popularity and recognition to their individual lives. Each member has a particular challenge or issue they struggle with, from teenage pregnancy to physical handicaps. The show addresses modern high school social topics such as popularity, dating, homosexuality, and alienation in a unbiased way that brings new light to what is cool and what is just plain absurd. The most attractive aspect of the show is the music and dancing scenes which often are so good that you will find yourself hitting the rewind button on your DVR to watch them again.
San Francisco Chronicle Glee, one of the season’s best and most anticipated new series, delivers on both counts – and more. It’s a quirky, sweet, humorous, nonpartisan funfest. Tim Goodman
USA Today It’s not perfect, but in a sea of procedural conformity, Glee is its own weird, often enchanting little island escape. Robert Bianco
LA Times The show is at its best at its sweetest — not just when the characters soften toward one another but when they soften toward an idea, a possibility. And, of course, there are the musical numbers. Robert Lloyd
Chicago Tribune Will this strange combination of starry-eyed optimism and manicured irony eventually combust? Possibly. But until then, there’s a lot to like about this weird and frequently winning hybrid. Maureen Ryan
