Practice TV Show is about a law firm centered in Boston. Rule bending seems to be the status quo at the firm. Many of the firms attorneys believed every single case was important and must be won. And while sometimes they actually lost, there always seemed to be a topic or opinion that stood out and vindicated their client. Pursuing justice can often be quite controversial and emotionally draining which caused many of the firm's personal relationships to suffer.

The Practice started off very well. It won several awards including an Emmey and Golden Globe in 1998 and 1999 for best drama series. The ratings took a nose dive when ABC moved the show to Monday Nights. They quickly learned this was a bad idea, and moved it back to Sunday. However, the damage had already been done and the show never gained back it's full viewership. After it's eighth season the show was canceled.

Reviews of the Practice TV Show

Pop Matters The attorneys on ABC's The Practice can't catch a break. Donnell, Young, Dole, & Frutt, the little law firm that could, always seems to be representing one of its own in a criminal case. It's a wonder anyone in Boston will hire them. Maybe it's that whole jailhouse lawyer thing that gets them over. Bernadette Adams Davis

Film Vault The Practice has come up with some clever twists on the murder genre this season. The most prominent plots, continuing over several episodes, have involved a brahmin law professor who shot an intruder (the lawyers argue that he "involuntarily" pulled the trigger several times) and a doctor who claims to have no idea how a severed head ended up in his medical bag.
