How to sell DVDs and Video Games on eBay
Written: 09-13-2005
Many people have several DVDs and video games not being used.
It is very easy to dust off these items and sell them on eBay.
You don't even need to take pictures. eBay has made listing DVDs
and videos games very easy!
The first step is to
register with eBay.
You will need to read and
agree with their "User Agreement and Privacy Policy." You will then be
asked to select a user name and password. Be creative with your user name
because this is how other eBay members will identify you. You will also
have to provide a valid email address which is used to verify your account.
eBay will send a message to this email account with a confirmation code.
The second step is to sign up with PayPal which is the preferred method
of payment on eBay. You will often get more bids on your auctions if you are
a verified and registered PayPal member.
The third step, which is perceived as the most difficult, is to list your
DVD or video game on eBay. This in fact, is probably the easiest step.
eBay has a pre-filled item format. So all you have to do is enter the title,
author, director, artist, ISBN number or UPC code. The title, item specifics,
and a stock photo are automatically added to your listing. You may customize
the item information further with additional item details or use a photo of
your own. Of course, you can always choose to skip this time saving feature
and enter item details manually.
The fourth step is to send an invoice and collect payment after the item sells.
eBay will notify you by email when your auction closes. Log onto your eBay account
and follow the steps on sending an invoice. You should always verify payment is
received before sending the item.
The final step is to ship the item to the wining bidder. I usually prefer to send
DVDs and video games via USPS priority mail. Priority service should only take 2-3
days within the continental US. I always pay the extra 45 cents for shipping confirmation.
This way you can verify that the buyer actually received the item.
Follow these five steps and you will make a little extra money from the many unused DVDs and video
games sitting around your house. You will quickly see how easy and fun it is to sell on eBay!

Question: What is a good starting price for video games on Ebay?
Answer: I find that auctions do better when they have a low starting bid price. I would recommend a starting price of less than a dollar.
